Responsible for progressing the District Development Strategy to set out district wide growth and development; and undertaking the review of the District Plan, including research, analysis and plan policy review.

Most people find the District Plan boring, however what would our beautiful district look like without rules and policies. It is difficult to make a legal document fun when it is of a serious nature.

We also look after the Council’s district development agenda, by writing strategies that guide the District’s growth and development, for example, Town Centre Strategies, the Rural Residential Development Strategy and the District Development Strategy.
