The Council has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic team player to join our Environmental Services Unit based in Rangiora. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring Compliance of Parking, Litter, Noise, RMA and Bylaws across the Waimakariri District, working in a team with 9 dedicated Compliance professionals.
Tasks associated with the role will be:
• Monitoring and enforce parking timeframes & vehicle compliance
• Monitoring of noise complaints, litter, amusement devices, environmental health risks • Investigation, reporting & record keeping of all events
• Customer service
• Other monitoring/educating tasks as required by local bylaws and RMA Key skills required for this role are:
• Customer service skills – personable and enjoy interacting with others
• Problem solving skills - the ability to deal with conflict and make decisions/take action on the spot
• Full Class 1 licence
• A good level of computer skills proficient in MS Office Suite. Be confident in learning new systems. Prior knowledge in Enterprise Systems.
• Fit and healthy to be on your feet for good potions of any given day
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, with some after-hours work required as needed. You would work with a team dedicated to deliver outstanding service to all customers. The role requires someone with a positive “can do” approach to work.
Applicants will be highly motivated, be an absolute team player, have a good eye for detail and a solutions-focused mind set demonstrating a pragmatic approach. Having outstanding communication and computer skills are essential; as is the ability to prioritise workloads.
