Technical Business Analyst

The Council is seeking to recruit a Technical Business Analyst on a 12 month fixed-term contract based at our Rangiora Service Centre, North Canterbury. We're looking for a savvy and motivated person to join our innovative project team, where digital transformation is in our DNA.
You'll drive the end-to-end migration of legacy data into the new ERP platform by combining deep technical SQL skills with business-facing analysis and first-class documentation. You will refine source queries, align extracts to Excel-based import templates, and run validation workshops to achieve clean, reconciled data loads that meet our go-live targets.
You will be comfortable facilitating discussions with our internal customers to ensure that data migration requirements are accurately captured, documented. You will be confident working with members of the project team to develop a “win-win” solution. You know what it takes to be a Technical Business Analyst.
The key skills and competencies we are looking for include:
• 3+ years' experience working in project environments
• You will also have the following technical skills
• Advanced Excel – Power Query, pivot tables, complex formulas, data cleansing, macros.
• Strong Business Analysis toolkit – requirements elicitation, process mapping, gap analysis, stakeholder workshops.
• Expert MSSQL – T-SQL, indexing, performance tuning, stored procedures, set-based data manipulation.
• Documentation – ability to create clear, concise, audit-ready artefacts (Jira, Word, Visio, Excel).
• An understanding of ERP systems as well as GIS, Business Intelligence, Microsoft Teams, Jira, and e-services is desirable.
