The Discovery and Digital Coordinator will manage and coordinate the libraries' digital and discovery offerings, such as our makerspace Tinker Zone, robotics club, code club, and digital gaming. They will lead and enhance the future direction of digital services and champion digital futures within the libraries and boost digital literacy within our hapori | community and provide opportunities for community learning and experiential discovery.

This role will mentor and coach the libraries team to gain the knowledge and skills to promote our digital and discovery offerings, educate our hapori, and offer rich and valuable experiences in both a structured programming setting and as a day-to-day offering, ensuring digital technology is at the forefront of service delivery.

This role will explore strategic external partnerships and facilitate and lead collaborations and connections with relevant vendors, local schools, libraries across Aotearoa and beyond to enhance learning, wellbeing, literacy and digital & social inclusion within the district.

You’ll have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in New Zealand public libraries or a related field, preferably a recognised library qualification, teaching or tertiary qualification and highly developed time management and organisational skills. A deep understanding and passion for the work and potential of future-focused public libraries to serve communities equitably, nurture literacy and lifelong learning, and contribute to community wellbeing is essential.
