Environmental Services Administrator
This is a dynamic and varied role, providing effective and efficient administrative support to the Environmental Services Unit and District Licensing Committee.

About the Role
In this dynamic and varied role, you will provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Environmental Services Unit (ESU) and District Licensing Committee. You’ll be responsible for maintaining accurate, accessible, and appropriate records, and assisting with enquiries from both internal and external customers.
You’ll work closely with the Environmental Health Team Leader and other team members to ensure our health, food, and alcohol registration systems are running smoothly and in compliance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Waimakariri District Council systems related to ESU activities and services.
- Support the Environmental Health Team Leader in delivering in-house regulatory services.
- Ensure timely and accurate registration of businesses and premises under relevant Acts.
- Provide administrative support and guidance to staff on procedures and systems.
- Fulfil reporting and documentation requirements.
- Participate in corporate projects and inter-departmental initiatives.
- Implement and improve systems and processes for environmental health registration and infringement notice compliance.
- Ensure all procedures are well-documented and aligned with best practice.
- Participate in Civil Defence training programmes and exercises

- Proven experience in administration, preferably in a regulatory or local government environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using technology and systems to manage records and processes.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and customer service.
