Waimakariri District Council is seeking a skilled Executive Support Coordinator to support our Executive Assistant to the Mayor and contribute to the smooth running of our executive office.

About the Role
As our Executive Support Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality administrative and secretarial support. You’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks including:
• General administration (data entry, typing, filing, photocopying, travel bookings)
• Meeting and event coordination (local, regional, and national)
• Financial support (purchase orders, invoicing, budget documentation)
• Support with dealing with public enquiries
• Maintaining effective record and information management systems
• Supporting continuous improvement of processes and services
• This role is permanent part time, 20 hours per week
This is a dynamic role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
What You’ll Bring
• 1–2 years’ experience in office administration
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other business software
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• A customer service mindset and a respectful, solutions-focused approach
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Minute-taking experience would be an advantage and a good understanding of record-keeping systems. A general understanding of local government is desirable but not essential.
