We are looking for two housing officers who can provide a high level of service and responsiveness to our Waimakariri District Council’s Elder Housing Tenants.
These roles are key points of contact between our tenants and Council, ensuring that tenancy and property management services are delivered in a timely, supportive and fully complaint way across our Housing portfolio.
Each position is 30 hours per week, with the flexibility to respond to the occasional after-hours call when needed. As part of our Property Team, you’ll be part of a group that genuinely cares about people and takes pride in maintaining a safe, comfortable and well-managed homes for our elderly community members. You’ll work closely with tenants, contractors and colleagues to keep things running smoothly – and your contribution will have a meaningful impact every day.
We are looking for people who have:
• Experience and understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act
• Proven experience working with elderly people in a respectful and supportive way
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word etc) and confidence using database systems to maintain accurate records and reporting
• Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgement
• A customer-focused approach with excellent communication
• The ability to build position relationships with tenants, contractors and colleagues
