Working as part of our Library Communications Team, you’ll play a key role in preparing our current website content for migration to a new platform. This is an exciting opportunity to review, refine, and re-imagine how our services and stories are shared online.
About the role:
• Fixed-term role from July – November 2026, 20 hours per week
• Audit, review, and edit existing content for clarity, accuracy, and relevance
• Prepare and structure content for migration to the new website
• Apply our brand guidelines and style guide to ensure a consistent Waimakariri Libraries voice
• Use content design and UX writing principles to improve usability and accessibility
• Support a clear and intuitive information architecture
• Ensure content meets web accessibility standards
About you:
You’re a skilled communicator with a passion for clear, user-focused content.
You bring:
• A tertiary qualification in Writing or Creative Communication involving web coordination and management and/or a NZ Diploma in Web Development and Design
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• Experience in content design / UX writing
• Strong audience awareness and ability to write for diverse users
• Knowledge of web accessibility (e.g. plain language, inclusive design)
• Experience with content auditing and migration
• Understanding of information architecture principles
You’ll also have a genuine appreciation for te ao Māori, and a commitment to reflecting bicultural practice in your work.
