The Waimakariri District Council operates four Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region including Dudley Park Aquatic Centre in Rangiora, Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre and the seasonal sites; Oxford Community Aquatic Centre and Waikuku Beach paddling pool.
From these facilities, we provide a high-level customer experience to a wide range of users ensuring that each facility is being utilised to its full potential. We are a respectful and progressive team delivering value for our customers.
To assist with this, the Council is currently seeking applications for the role of Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre Team Leader. This is a permanent full time position.
As the Centre Team Leader, you will be an organised and passionate leader seeking a role, which provides direct contact with staff, our customers and the community. You will be responsible for organising the operational staff who deliver our services including rostering, administration, training and development. Working closely with your teams you will coach new members, growing skills and fostering talent to develop career pathways, capability and resilience.
Industry experience and proven ability to work with a diverse customer base would be of benefit. Previous experience leading teams and knowledge of Learn to Swim, Lifeguard and Health and Safety, would be an advantage but not an essential requirement. The successful applicant will need to hold or be capable of achieving the National Pool Lifeguard Certificate and a Swim Education Award.
