The Council is seeking an Aquatic Facilities Manager to lead a diverse team in Rangiora across a range of functions delivering a high quality experience to our customers.

The Waimakariri District Council operates four Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region including Dudley Park Aquatic Centre in Rangiora, Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre and the seasonal site at Oxford Community Aquatic Centre.
From these facilities, we provide a high-level customer experience to a wide range of users ensuring that each facility is being utilised to its full potential. We are a respectful and progressive team delivering value for our customers.
To assist with this, the Council is currently seeking applications for fixed term cover (paternity leave) of the role of Dudley Park Aquatic Centre Manager. In this role, you will be leading a diverse team across a range of functions to ensure the comfort, safety and security of our customers.
Working closely within the Aquatics Leadership team you will nurture talent and deliver high quality customer experiences within our facilities. This role leads the Programmes portfolio involving oversight, development and delivery of planning, policies and technical responsibilities for all programmes and customer services offered by all Aquatic Facilities.
As the Dudley Park Aquatic Centre Manager, you will take a collaborative approach to delivering a high quality experience to our customers, ensuring a professional, approachable and solutions focused approach to community needs. You will champion innovation & new ideas to ensure a best value solutions approach, through the planning, organisation and delivery of services. This will require a high degree of self-awareness, motivation and strong communication skills.
You will hold a tertiary qualification in Recreation and Sport, Business management or have at least 4 years’ industry experience in senior roles. The successful applicant will have experience operating a swim school and knowledge of Learn to Swim programming.
