As Operations Team Leader, you'll play a central role in ensuring operational excellence that shapes the library experience for our community and team alike.

Team Empowerment: Manage our casual team and support with the induction of new team members to our library whānau. Infuse a customer-centric ethos and guide their growth, ensuring an unwavering commitment to professionalism. Daily libraries rostering, ensuring consistent coverage that guarantees the highest level of service at all libraries of the Waimakariri.

Project Management: Alongside your Libraries Leadership Team colleagues, you will support the investigation, planning, coordination and delivery of a range of service and space enhancements.

Monitoring and Reporting: Take charge of tracking and reporting on our library's impact analysing data and identifying service gaps contributing to our growth and adaptability in response to evolving community needs. Liaising with external contractors as needed, such as electricians, plumbers, cleaning services, as well as Council colleagues to ensure our libraries are fully functioning and compliant.

Shaping the Future: As a member of our Libraries Leadership Team, you'll contribute to crafting a forward-looking library strategy and vision. Your insights will contribute directly to achieving Community Outcomes and ensuring our library remains a beacon of progress and opportunity in Aotearoa’s Library community.

Qualifications and Skills: We're searching for a proactive leader with a passion for enhancing the library experience.

Our ideal candidate will bring: A proven track record in team leadership, fostering collaboration and driving results. A flair for problem-solving and innovative thinking with an eye for detail. A thorough understanding of the purpose of modern public libraries that informs and drives the delivery of high-quality facilities management to support operational need now and into the future. Proficiency in roster management and resource allocation to ensure seamless library operations. A proactive approach to safety and presentation, ensuring our libraries are welcoming havens for all.
